You Asked, I’m Answering: Your Top Questions About My Campaign for Westland City Council

As an independent candidate for Westland City Council, I’ve received many questions from voters about my background, my vision for the city, and how I plan to address the challenges we’re facing. Here are some answers to the most frequently asked questions:

Q: “What makes you qualified for the job?”

A: My military background taught me discipline and a sense of duty. As the owner of an IT business, I’ve learned how to navigate complex challenges and serve a wide range of clients. As an IT Administrator at a fortune 500 company I have learned the value of teamwork and collaboration. And as a parent, I’ve seen firsthand where our city can improve, especially in supporting families and young people.

Q: “How do you plan to lower property taxes and still improve city services?”

A: I’ve outlined a plan to streamline city government, reduce waste, and partner with local businesses and investors to generate new revenue streams. By being fiscally responsible and working together with the community, I believe we can achieve both goals.

Q: “What’s your vision for the Westland mall?”

A: I envision it as a vibrant community hub, offering a place for residents to gather and activities for residents of all ages. By partnering with local stakeholders, we can create a destination that brings people together and supports our local economy.

Q: “How does building a water tower lower water costs?”

A: We buy our water from Great Lakes Water Authority and the cost is not the same at all times of the day, Water during the height of usage in the daytime is significantly more expensive than water used at night, By creating a water storage system in the city we can fill that water storage at night when the cost is cheaper and then use that water during the peak hours of the day, Thereby avoiding the most expensive water rates.
